
Norbert Silvera is an electronic engineer at the French Institute of Research for Development (IRD), with 37 years of experience in working with agronomists, hydrologists and soils scientists. He trains local colleagues and students in electronics designing, testing and maintenance. He participates in publishing papers specialized on the impact of land-use change, soil erosion and hydrology. He also deposited international patents on several original systems dealing with water level, velocity and discharge measurements. Since 2020 he works at DALAM, Vientiane, Laos. His activities aim at managing M-TROPICS/MSEC hydro-erosion and climatic database, including the small catchments of Laos, Thailand and Vietnam. He develops a new generation of water level sensors dedicated to hydrological stations of the MSEC network.”
